Title |
Predicting viral phenotypes, fitness, and evolution
Abstract
During the COVID-19 pandemic, an unprecedented volume of viral genome data was collected, establishing virology as one of the most genomically rich fields in life sciences today. By leveraging this big data alongside advanced machine learning techniques, could we predict viral phenotypes and fitness directly from its genotype—and perhaps even forecast viral evolution? In this seminar, I will present a series of our studies that explore these questions and discuss the future directions for virus informatics research.
