Title Construction of comprehensive ortholog database for comparative analysis of microbial genomes.
Abstract
During decades, genomic sequences of diverse microbes have been determined. Recently, more diverse genomic information has been obtained from metagenomic samples, from which nearly complete genome sequences have been generated as metagenome assembled genomes (MAGs). To fully understand microbial diversity, comparative analysis of these vast genomic datasets is essential. We have been developing the Microbial Genome Database for Comparative Analysis (MBGD), which is a comprehensive ortholog database among published microbial genomes. The latest version of MBGD is constructed from 1,812 genus-level pan-genomes, containing 34,079 genomes in total. In this talk, I would like to introduce the methodology of ortholog group construction in MBGD as well as recent enhancement of MBGD including functional annotation using KEGG Module database through MBGD-KO cross-reference.
